Wok Box Ribbon-cutting ceremony is expected to be scheduled mid-June, at 818 West Hamilton Street, Allentown, a Cityline Construction Property.
ALLENTOWN, PA (IMMEDIATE RELEASE) — When Wok Box Fresh Asian Kitchen celebrates the opening of its first northeastern U.S. store with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in mid-June, the Allentown property, owned by Cityline Construction, will be much more than a quick lunch stop.
Wok Box, of Canada, is noted for its fresh, healthy and affordable Asian noodle dishes. The stylish 2,100-square-foot eatery at 818 West Hamilton Street is designed as a lively destination with a modern industrial look, large TV screens for menu presentation, and nearly two dozen rapid cellphone charging stations.
A communal table for 12 will encourage team or community meetings, plus plenty of seating at the noodle bar will inspire such civic pursuits as chatting or people watching, according to Owner/Area Developer, Wok Box, Brandon Zimmerman.
“We worked for several months with an architect to arrive at a design that fits the Wok Box brand, but to also maximize having both front and back storefronts, seating for nearly 100, and the modern industrial look Wok Box is known for,” says Zimmerman, age 30.
“Wok Box represents a renaissance in fresh, healthy eating in downtown Allentown, as well as a new business model to spin Allentown into the future,” says Thomas Williams Jr. Real Estate Director, Cityline Construction.
Cityline served as general contractor for the construction process that began in January. The property also features an outdoor patio for alfresco dining.
The Allentown location will be the seventh in the U.S. for the Wok Box brand. The Canada-based firm has plans to expand its U.S. franchises to 250 stores nationwide, says Zimmerman, who is responsible for selling the franchise in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.
Wok Box was founded in 2004 as a single store in downtown Edmonton, Alberta. The company is now set for rapid growth, with expansion plans across North America—and beyond. Currently, says Zimmerman, the nearest Wok Box stores to the Lehigh Valley are located in Toronto and Michigan. Following the opening of the Allentown store, plans are under way for store locations in South Carolina and Florida.
